At SFO we met "Kiwi 'the Greek' Sketchers in the lounge. A member of the band Stick Figure found Karen-Meredith's boarding pass. Max listens to them on Pandora! Then on the plane we sat next to Rocky who was finally getting back to Thailand and his wife and daughter after riding out the pandemic in the States.
22 hours of travel and then a walk about Bangkok before heading off to Siem Reap, Cambodia.
We sat in a garden eating takeout and then walk around the corner to find a ferry; three stops down the canal to the Jim Thompson House. Thompson was a silk maven and collector of teak homes when he relocated to Bangkok. We made our way back to the hotel and went swimming which was great. Had another amazing dinner at the Rang Mahal after 20 years. We we went to bed, woke up in the middle of the night, and decided not to take the 5-hour heat train to Cambodia. So we booked a last minute one-hour flight direct to Siem Reap.
