We began with scones for breakfast. Otto drove us to many locations on this day. We started with a visit to Doi Suthep which is a huge temple complex with many buildings and statuary. The monks there were praying and chanting continuously over the PA system for the health of the Thai princess who had been hospitalized for many days. At the foot of the complex we shopped for clothes and Otto bought a lottery ticket. We visited the Jungle Temple where we were treated to lunch at a monk's graduation.
We popped into an orchid farm, an umbrella factory where we had our phone backs painted by artists there, and a silk factory/shop run by a very old and powerful Thai family. We finished up with a nice dinner at Galae amongst many graduation parties and locals having a nice meal surrounded by flowers on a lake. It took three waiters and a helpful patron for us to figure out how to and what to order, but we did it. Whew.
